Common Questions

What are your Sunday services like?

Every Sunday at New Covenant, you’ll experience a welcoming and friendly atmosphere with exciting worship music and a practical, relevant message.  We provide message notes in printed form as well as online to help you get the most out of each week’s teaching.  Children are taught and cared for in a loving, clean environment by workers who have passed a background check.

What will happen when I visit for the first time?

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile—and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you.  We give a “no hassle guarantee” to all of our first-time guests.  This means, we won’t bother you with phone calls or emails.  We’ll simply mail you a letter to let you know how you can connect with us if you choose to return.

What do I wear to attend your services?

You’ll find everything from casual clothes to business suits at our Sunday services. Come in what is comfortable for you, because New Covenant is not about what you look like or what you wear, it’s about who you are.

Where are you located?

Our address is 1425 Newton Bridge Road, Athens, GA 30607.  Plug our address into your favorite maps or GPS tool and it will bring you right to the church.

Do you have a midweek service?

We don’t have a regular Wednesday Worship Service.  Check our current schedule of Groups to get involved in the life of our church outside regular weekend service.  Our youth ministry, Contagious Youth, meets every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

What about my children?

Your children are a top priority at New Covenant.  Our nurseries (called Covenant Clubhouse) are clean, safe and staffed with loving workers.  Our children’s ministry (called Covenant Kids) is a dynamic environment where kids have fun, learn a Bible lesson, memorize scripture and learn how to pray.  All of our areas are staffed by workers who have gone through a background check.

How can I meet others and get connected?

There are many ways to get involved. You can begin by attending our Growth Track. Small groups are another great way to connect. In each of these, you can build friendships, learn more about the life of our church, and have the opportunity to grow in your faith.

How can I be discipled and grow?

Our Growth Track offers the tools necessary to make this happen in your life. Growth Track is a set of four classes that helps you say yes to God.  They happen during the Sunday worship service.  You can begin the process at any step in our Growth Track.

Why do you have small groups?

Small groups are a vital part of New Covenant Worship Center; in fact, you haven’t fully experienced the church until you’ve experienced our small groups. Groups allow you to meet other members and develop relationships that will spur your relationship with God.  Our groups meet for three semesters during the year:  thirteen weeks in the Winter/Spring, six weeks in the Summer, and thirteen weeks in the Fall.

How can I get involved in small groups?

One of the most important steps you can take is to get involved in a small group.  They meet at various times and locations and provide a place for Bible study, fellowship, and support.  Check out our online directory and visit a group this week!
